About Operation Kidney Snatcher
Zach is a dedicated small business owner and passionate creator behind Dark Works Syndicate, where he handcrafts high-quality outdoor gear. For as long as he can remember, Zach has been driven by his work and his commitment to helping others with the products he creates. However, his life was unexpectedly and dramatically changed when he was diagnosed with stage 5 renal disease.
This diagnosis came as a complete surprise to Zach, as he had not experienced the typical symptoms often associated with kidney failure, such as pedal edema or frothy urine. The only thing that led him to the hospital was chest tension and high blood pressure—symptoms that seemed unrelated at the time. It was during a routine blood pressure check in a lab at school, where Zach was training to become an EMT/firefighter, that this life-altering condition was discovered. This series of events has now led to Zach being referred to the kidney transplant list, and he is currently undergoing dialysis to help filter toxins from his blood.
To make matters more challenging, Zach’s dialysis tube has caused significant pain and discomfort, both during the procedure and when urinating. He is now waiting for surgery to replace the tube, hoping for some relief so that he can continue filtering out toxins and manage his condition more comfortably. This is a crucial step in his journey, as it will allow him to continue living while awaiting a kidney transplant.
Unfortunately, his health challenges have greatly affected his ability to maintain a steady income. As a business owner, his only source of income comes from Dark Works Syndicate, and his ability to produce and sell his handcrafted gear has been hindered due to his ongoing medical issues. The financial strain is compounded by the mounting medical expenses associated with dialysis, surgery, and eventual transplant costs.
Through all of this, Zach has remained resilient. His mental strength and determination to move forward come from the unwavering support of his close family and friends. Their encouragement has kept him strong as he navigates this difficult chapter. However, Zach’s journey is far from over, and he needs the support of the community to help him continue to move forward with hope and perseverance.
